Mary's Treasure

I love the way that Luke begins to set apart Mary. Twice in this text he indicates that she treasures certain things about Christ in her heart, primarily his uniqueness and glory to ponder. It is as though Luke is saying, "Don't forget about Mary. She is going to come up later in the story. She plays an important role in Jesus' upbringing. She respects his mission and his identity as God." We, too, should also consider the uniqueness of Christ and not allow our hearts to grow familiar with him.
