As I read this verse, I was reminded of some of the people I have witnessed to that have turned down the invitation to accept God's wonderful gift. I remember at those times wondering what I could have done or said differently to "make" them accept. Or thinking how do they not see God's gift for them.

This verse reminds me that God does the work of changing lives. 1 Cor. 3:9 tells us someone will do the planting and someone else will do the watering but God will bring the increase. God is the one that opens the eyes. I also see that water well was there Hagar just did not see it until God opened her eyes.

Remember this as you witness. Show them God's goodness and let God do His work of opening blinded eyes.
