How often do I turn my back and walk away because things are too difficult to understand or accept?
I've always pictured Jesus as having a magnetic personality. We hear over and over again about people being drawn to him. This makes me sometimes forget about all the people who walked away, even after spending time in his presence hearing his teachings, seeing the miracles he performed. How is it possible that they go after witnessing the Son of God first hand?
It completely baffles me, yet also makes me ask, would I have done the same? Jesus said some things that would have come across as if he were crazy. I can imagine the internal dialogue of the crowd: "Now Jesus, that's just crazy talk!" "And you want me to eat... what?!?" "But I know your parents..." "We've been following you around for who knows how long, and NOW you're telling me this???" "Note to self: no matter what, don't drink the purple kool-aid." (okay, maybe that last one wouldn't have happened.)
The question I'm left with is: How often do I turn my back and walk away because things are too difficult to understand or accept?
