picky picky

Whew! God wasn't playing around when he wanted things done a certain way. His specifications for the ark, the table, the lampstand, the oil even- good grief! Hope they could write all this down (right next to all the rules and consequences they were given as well.) Is God being picky? I don't think so! If only we could be as meticulous when it comes to the place that houses His presence now. We are the temples- His spirit lives in us. But man, if only we were as picky when it comes to the things we allow in the same "room " with God. If only we were as detailed adn aware of every little thing that takes residence inside of us. Instead, we have a tendancy to allow unforgiveness, offense, habitual sin, etc. to cohabitate in a place meant only for the presence of God. God, forgive us for letting sin remain in the backrooms and crevaces of our hearts- those are areas reverved for your presence. Thank you for grace that shows us that you are not looking for perfection from us. When you look at us, you look at us through a reddish tint of blood and suffering borne by Jesus. While we know that we could never do enough to earn your good graces (thank you that we don't have to), grant us courage to deal with the junk in our hearts. May we be as meticulous as the builders of the ark, the temple, and all that was in and around it. May we be constantly aware that in housing You, we give You all the sapce you desire and clear out the clutter to make room. Help us, as your body to stay aware fo what we allow to grow inside if us, what we see, what we hear, what we subject oursleves to. I want to be downright picky in what I allow to live in me. More of You, Jesus. Less of me.
