Just curious -- does anyone know if there is a deep spiritual reason for some verses referring to the father as Israel, and others referring to him as Jacob? Chap. 35:10 is when God tells Jacob that he will no longer be called Jacob... and yet throughout the rest of Genesis the names seem to be used interchangeably. Anyone have any insights?
