Planted! Fruitful! Vibrant! Prospering!!
Happy the man who stays away from ungodly influences. Does he avoid those words, ways, and attitudes to get to the law of God or does he avoid those influences because of the Word of God? Both i suppose are true, but most likely the second is first.
The man of God is warned of the world's ways by the law of God. Though the world is ever pulling, tugging, pushing, and vying for our souls (how valuable a thing must our souls be?)...the man of God avoids them by God's law. And then i suppose a higher thing happens over time, though his flesh may be inclined as it most definitely is, to try the world's paths and pleasures; but with a steady intake of holy, clean, pure water he begins to lose his appetite for those things proffered...and so now he is deeply content and satisfied - happy...to stay in the law of God.
the benefits are too rich to ultimately pass on no matter how sweet the promises that come his way.
A steady life, free of being blown off course. strength - true strength - inner strength - conviction enters his soul and he is deeply secure!
A fruitful life. good not only comes to him, it comes from him as does the richest fruit bearing trees nourish others so does this Word lover.
A Vibrant life. real life is present. abundant life. purposed life. vitality. his youth is renewed like the eagles and he runs and doesn't grow faint.
A Prosperous life. the favor of God rests upon him. There's an Eternal sunshine upon his face that the darkest thunders clouds of this world cannot hide...
and then Proverbs 1:33 says of the man who will give heed to God's blessed law:
but safe lives he who listens to me,
from fear of harm he shall be
wholly free!
who could ever want for anything more than to be wholly free? wholly free/strong/fruitful/vibrant/secure!
Father on this New Year's Day 2012 I commit myself, my soul, my mind,my eyes, my all to delighting in Your Law! Oh how I cannot wait to sense the thrill of all the above! I was made to live in You! Let me be a burning beacon of these glorious things promised to us!
In Jesus' Resplendent Name!!!!
