A Long View
it struck me this morning how, as an American, I have a short view on life - meaning, I expect my life to have meaning primarily in the head and now - the 80 year span of life I've been given. God's grand design is much bigger than that, sometimes he is working up to big events and waiting to answer our cries so ultimate purposes can be achieved. we would understand this better if we didn't think so highly of ourselves (most of us have the luxury of living in a "me" centered universe).
This is not to belittle the fact that God cares about us as individuals, but it should shed light on some of His behavior that seems confusing from our finite perspective. a Hebrew in the land of Egypt must have thought the Lord had abbandoned them - not so, he was waiting for the time of the deliverer to come. all of this is in order to set into effect a grand scheme to deliver all mankind from that first and odious act of treason, THE original sin...
