I Samuel 16

v. 4 - this is the first time that I noticed the fear of Samuel from the leaders of the town. I wonder what was the source of their fear and question of whether or not he comes in fear - Is it just that Samuel was a prophet of God or that he was tied to Saul?

v. 11 - Really, they didn't sit until David arrived? I wonder how long that took?

v. 13-23 God gave David the talent to play on the harp, God also allowed his Spirit to come upon David. It can't be a coincidence that when the evil spirit came upon Saul that David's playing allowed Saul to "feel better and the evil spirit leaves him." You would think that this relationship between David and Saul would remain positive but we know all too well that Saul's ego again gets in the way.
