He's after your $!!

Exodus 32:
Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.” So all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the Lord.” (Exodus 32:2-5 NIV84)

Isn't it interesting… when the Israelites left Egypt that God caused the Egyptians to give the Israelites their gold etc.
God had in mind that this would be for His worship through the tabernacle.

Here we see Satan trying to take the treasure away from the Israelites to prevent it's use in the tabernacle.

How much of the 'treasure' that God has sent our way for the use of His kingdom have we squandered in the pursuit of affluenza?

The world tells us that we need to make an idol of our image and our appearance of keeping up with the Joneses.
Isn't it interesting that although we are the most affluent people in history we are also the unhappiest.
Serving false idols will always lead to emptiness and purposelessness.

Let's fix our eyes on Jesus… and ask God what He wants to do with the 'treasure' He has sent our way.
