Altars & Sacrifice
It's a new year (2012) and I'm fasting with LifeChurch and Church Online servant teams! My "fast" isn't food, but an activity which robs me of my time-television!
I confess! I'm a "Law and Order" addict and a news junkie. There is always news and in my area, one can almost always find some Law and Order on the tube. To make matters worse, this "friend" has become a companion when I eat-and tricks me into eating even when I'm not really hungry, and almost always on the couch so you know where I'm going : ) .
For the next 21 days, during the day, when husband is not home, I am fasting from television! Instead, I pray to discover a singular focused "passion". Something the Lord desires that I do instead of letting the idiot box steal time from the work He has for me to do.
The sacrifice? My compulsion to be "in the know" at all times about things "in the world" I pray to replace this with drawing near and knowing HIM more!
