A Prayer for Our Generation
Lord, we are missing the point. We are forgetting why should strive to seek you more and be like you more every day. Not perfection but perfected. We read the bible bc we want to be more spiritual so that we can have the opportunity to hold the mic one day and share what we have come to understand. We pray so that we can be inspired to write new lyrics and encourage a congregation to worship. We help outside through outreaches bc we want to see ppl saved. We give bc we want to receive. This sounds great but the true reason we should do all the above is bc we want to br more like our Father and not bc we are looking for external results. The moment we don't get the mic we get frustrated. The moment we notice that no one is really worshipping we get dissapointed. The moment we don't see lives changed we ask what's the point. The moment you don't receive we complain. The point is to be more like our Father...to be more like You! Let this be a generation that reads, prays, helps, and gives, bc we want to be more like you. We will pray for external results but our focus will be on planting the seed, being the solutions, laying down our lives, and carrying our cross, and that will mean that we will have to read and pray which will lead to help and give just like Jesus did when he came from heaven. This will be a generation that is known for being Christ like and followers of Christ.
