Perfect love

1 Peter 1:22 says, "Now that you've cleaned up your lives by following the truth (God's word that lasts FOREVER), love one another "earnestly" (Holman), "fervently" (KJV), "deeply" (NLT), or "if your lives depended on it." " (The Message). With God's love (not our own), we are instructed to love one another as if our life depended on it! Wow! God loved us so much that he died for us, and we should be imitators of God, so we should love so much as to be willing to die for someone else!! That's a lot of love... Love that is patient, kind, forgiving,...and never fails (1 Cor. 13). It's so interesting how scriptures unify w/ each other: Sometimes we find it hard to love some people, but we should "count it all joy when we face trials of many kinds (like finding it hard to love someone), knowing that the trying of your faith worketh patience, and when patience (which is a characteristic of love) has its perfect work (when we learn to love earnestly), we will be perfect and entire, not lacking anything." (James 1:2-4)..."Faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love" (because it is perfect). Only through studying and following God's word, and through walking out daily life (and trials) can we learn patience, and to love as if our lives depended on it, then we will be perfect and entire, lacking nothing (James 1:2-4) and never failing (1 Cor. 13).
