A Prayer for Our Generation
Lord, we have become a generation that believes we are entitled. We think everyone owed us, especially our parents. Bc they did such a horrible job parenting, divorce, to busy with work, now they have to do what we say in order to make up for it. We hold their faults and failures and sins over them. When did we flip the role. When did we become our parents judges. When did we decide to only obey our parents conditionally. If we are to be called children of God we are to obey our parents no matter what they have done. We are to honor our parents, and yes to honor includes with our money, bc we belong to God. You know how hard it is to be the spiritual leader when we are only children but Your word says that you followed your dad's career, that's shows honor. Even though I'm married and out of the house let me be a son that brings honor to my parents...not bc they were perfect parents but bc I met a perfect FATHER who has forgiven me and I now know that love is unconditional and to obey and give honor is a choice. This will be a generation that will choose to bring honor to our parentals no matter what. We will be light in the midst of a culture that is flipping the standards. My mom and dad will not have to understand me before I can honor them. Thank you for the sacrifice they made in coming to this country so that we could have a better life.
