Complete Joy
Remember the children's song, "Love is nothing 'til you give it away"?
Imagine getting a shiny new toy, but then keeping it hidden so no one can see it, touch it, or steal it. You would spend the whole day thinking about it, but unable to touch it and play with it, resentment and hurt would fester as you imagine all you could be doing with it. Eventually, the toy becomes a dark secret bringing nothing but pain and destruction.
John has realized the joy he finds in Christ is not complete until he shares Christ with others. I mean, is joy really joy if no one shares it with you?
Father, thank you for the joy I find in You. Lead me today to someone with whom I may share You and the Love You have given. Amen.
