Where does God want me to be?

I often have asked God what He wants me to do and where He wants me to go and very seldom does He flat out tell me the exact place. I find it encouraging that it was the same for Abraham, who didn't know where he was going (Heb 11:8). God just said go. So Abraham did and he took Lot along with him. Eventually there were too many people and animals that they had to split up and Abraham said he'd go the opposite way of Lot and that just happened to be the land that God was to show him. It seems God points us in a general direction to go and maybe we bounce off certain choices throughout our lives like a bowling ball off the bumpers in the bowling lane, but eventually we find ourselves right where God wanted us all along.
