Fear God

Moses was more than happy to see that Aaron's sons' failure was not a product of negligence or carelessness. They were in torment over the death of their brothers and greatly feared that the same would happen to them. And Moses is more than pleased to see that Aaron now fears the Lord. Lord, I thank you that I am not in danger of death for "missing the mark." But I also know that even in your wonderful New Covenant you demand that I fear you. I know that I am also in danger of certain repercussions (not necessarily damning) if I fail to fear your holy name (1 Peter 1:17). Help me, oh God, to walk upright before you. Cleanse my heart, Lord. Purify my soul. Help me not to just generally fear your name, but to wholly fear your name. Keep me not only from flagrant sin, but seditious, stealthy sin.
