1 Sam 24 - David Spares Saul's Life

I continue to have more respect for Daivd each day. Ohh how he must have wanted to kill Saul when he had the chance. Saul heads into the cave where David and his men are hiding. Saul was alone... David could have easily taken him out. He had good reason too, and the people were behind him. Yet he chooses to show Mercy to Saul. This act of mercy changes Sauls heart. It softens Saul and he finally admits that David would be the next king. Then it's Saul asking David for mercy on him and his family.
Have I been wronged by someone?
Do I need to offer mercy/forgiveness even if I have reason to get even?
This is a nice picture of what our heavenly father has done for us! Our sin deserves death yet God who is rich in mercy sent is son to die in our place.
Ultimate power is in a pardon!
