David cracks me up sometimes. Now, admittedly, I haven't been pursued by somebody intent on murdering me, but he asks the Lord specifically to take his enemies down. He doesn't ask God to call them off. He asks God to demolish them, to ruin them. If God does what he's asking (in verses 1-8) "then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in his salvation". Actually, David just says what I'm afraid to utter sometimes (just in case I take advantage of God's grace). It does remind me of the deals I used to make with God, though.

I wish I could vent as well as David does. He must have been having a seriously bad day.
