The Scrawny Seedling
I love the entire chapter of Isaiah 53. It's a passage that many people reference, but as I was reading it from the Message, it seemed different somehow. Verse 2 really stuck out to me. Sometimes I do wonder what Jesus actually looked like, and this verse makes it clear point-blank that he was not attractive. He was "comely," "nothing to cause us to take a second look." It makes me wonder if I had been living while Jesus was alive, would I have given him a second look? I guess, I will never know.
