I love the ESV in this text. The Corinthian Christians are spiritually inhibited by their own affections. Paul's advice? "Widen your hearts." This can mean a number of things, but it seems clear by the next verse that they love the world and their affection for the world is what limited their spiritual growth. Thus, they should divorce themselves from the influence of the world so that their hearts can be restored to God.
