End Times the run to Armageddon
Verse 12 refers to the coming war which has not happened yet, but will in coming days. The unusual "plague" mentioned here strikes those that war against Israel. It alludes to the destruction of men via limited nuclear weapon in what we now know is the capability of a neutron bomb. The depiction of flesh rotting while they stand on their feet, eyes rotting in their sockets, and tongue rotting in their mouth shows a sudden and dramatic radiation effect. Note that these men are still standing when they are immediately destroyed. The fact that we have built such weapons capable of doing this kind of damage enforces the opinion that we are in these end times.
