Perfect love - part 2
Eph. 3:17-19: "And I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in LOVE (since Christ lives in you), may be able to comprehend...what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the LOVE of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled w/ all the FULLNESS OF GOD." When we know God's love, we will know the fullness of God, because God IS love. It seems to me that "full" means perfect - it can't get any better/fuller. This is backed up by some verses I mentioned in part 1:
1) James 1:2-4: "When patience (which is a characteristic of love) has its perfect work, we will be perfect and entire, not lacking anything" (We will know the FULLNESS OF GOD, who IS love).
2) "Faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love" (because it is perfect - God IS love).
3) 1 Peter 1:22: "Love as if our lives depended on it" (you can't love any fuller / more perfect than that!...then we'll know the FULLNESS OF GOD)
4) 1 Cor. 13: "love never fails" (FULLNESS OF GOD - God IS love - God never fails).
...I'm sure the list could go on and on.
