she's coming to get you

He was going down the street near her corner,

walking along in the direction of her house

Then out came a woman to meet him,

dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.

She took hold of him and kissed him

and with a brazen face she said:

So I came out to meet you;

I looked for you and have found you!

With persuasive words she led him astray;

she seduced him with her smooth talk.

All at once he followed her

like an ox going to the slaughter,

like a deer stepping into a noose (Proverbs 7:8, 10, 13, 15, 21, 22 NIV84)

This Proverb has some great lessons for us:

* This fella's trouble started when he was traveling down the street near her corner! A wise person steers far away from where temptation lives!

* Temptation came out to greet him. Temptation is looking for you… don't give it 1/2 a chance!!

* Temptation will come and kiss you… seduce you… smooth talk you… you'll rationalize what you know you should not do… it just seems so inviting… so pleasant at the time!

* 'All at once he followed her' - whatever! He allowed many steps to take place before he followed her!
So many people say, I don't know how it happened but all of a sudden… nonsense… you took many so called 'innocent' steps before the suddenly!!
A wise person guards his steps… long before the suddenly can take place!
