Fear of God leads to not sin
Fear of God leads to our avoiding sin. Now understand the Gospel leads to fear of the Lord. Unredeemed people do not fear God, they don't even acknowledge God's right over them or existence for that matter. But people who have been filled with the Spirit are able to fear God, they see His right over them and they see His right to demand righteousness and to punish sin. Our fear then is good as it drives us to the cross of Jesus, to grace and yes also to obedience, good works, fruit of the Spirit
