1 Sam 30 - David leads
David and his men return to Ziklag where they had been living for over a year only to find it decimated by the Amalekites. They had destroyed what was there and had taken everything including their wives and children. David sought the Lord and the Lord directed him to go after the Amalekites. David and only 400 of his 600 men went after them and the Lord delivered the Amalekites into their hand. David and his men got all their plunder back, their families back and were able to return to Ziklag unharmed. The Lord Delivered them and David proved to be quite a leader with the Lord's help. Here he would gain the respect and proven leadership to become Israels next King. What trials is God putting us through that might be preparing us for something greater? Right now, personally, I'm facing many trials. I'm struggling to pay my monthly bills, we've discovered my wife AND daughter have a life-long disease that will cause us to change eating habits and incur additional expense even though we don't have the money. It's real tempting to ask God WHY? But I MUST trust that the Lord who led David in battle has something greater in store for me. SO... I am choosing Joy. I eagerly await what God has in store for me and my family, and I only do it with HIS strength.
