Note the order of events

The Bible says "after" Job interceded, the Lord restored his fortune--and then doubled it. This is interesting considering the fact that the people for whom Job intercedes had mocked him all this time. They had thought and spoken the worst of him, they had criticized and maligned. Job would have been justified perhaps in parting company, in talking of mistrust, but instead he prayed for them. In so doing, the Lord restored JOB completely and then some. Good lesson in that for us.
