Shortcuts
When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. Shortcuts. We all want a shortcut that will lead us to a "promise land". Our flesh craves the way of ease yet desires the top rung of life. Here God takes His people on the roundabout and not the shortcut. I believe the same is what God calls us to in our pursuit of Him. Though we all want the quick fix He will lead us roundabout to develop true character and perseverance. Father You know how much I need this Word. How often I can scheme for a shortcut to an end. Teach me the way of patience and walking and growing with you in the roundabouts of life that I may be fit for the "promise land" you take me to
