The third book of Moses
Named for the tribe of Levi
Levi was one of the sons of Jacob
Eventually chosen to become the priests of Israel
Priests are supposed to be the mediators between God & the rest of the people
Laying their hands on the head of the ram symbolized the transfer of their sins to the ram then Moses killed it
The ram without imperfection that took on the sins represents Jesus
The order of the application of the blood from the top to the bottom symbolizes that we need to be covered in the blood
The application of the blood to the ear first means that primarily we need to listen to what God says through His Word
The application of the blood to the thumb of the right hand means after we've listened to His Commands we need to act on them
The thumb helps you grip stuff
The thumb helps you hold on to stuff
We can hold on in spite of what happens
The application of the blood to the big toe of the right foot
The big toe gives you support and balance
It is hard to run or walk straight with out the big toe
We're walking with God, but we're not walking straight with God
Learn how to be in the world, but not of the world
Learn not to be so heavenly minded that we're no earthly good
