Psalm 89:19-29
Psalm 89:22, 27-29
(1) Freedom from affliction and deception (V.22)
The enemy shall not outwit him, Nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
(a) The enemy being our flesh and satan.
Gal 6:8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
(b) We have the victory overcoming world.
1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world
(c) God has freed us from afflictions.
Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
(2) Exaltation and authority (Vs.27-29)
(a) He has given us as the anointed first place!
27 Also I will make him My firstborn,
The highest of the kings of the earth.
(b) He promises mercy to us.
28 My mercy I will keep for him forever, And My covenant shall stand firm with him.
(c) He promise our children to have the same anointing.
29 His seed also I will make to endure forever,
And his throne as the days of heaven.
