Heart of David vs Heart of Solomon

David and Solomon were both great Kings but each had a different disposition towards God.

Both men were sinners and committed grievous errors and lack of judgement as Kings.

However, it is irrefutable that David honoured and dearly loved God regardless of his personal weaknesses and sins.

He somehow, never let the pressures of life, the accusations of the devil, the guilt after the sin remove his heart from God.

Solomon on the other hand let his way of life, his situations and sin nature divert his heart from God.

Verse 9 states the source of God's Anger....the attitude of Solomon's heart.

These passage tends to remind me of Cain and Abel. Cain did not have mastery over sin (maintaining a steadfast heart towards God) and it ultimately led to him living the rest of his days away from the presence of God

APPLICATION:

We will all sin today at some point! Acknowledge & Repent of your sins like David:
God understands (but does not condone) our human frailty towards sin. That is why he sent Jesus.

Keep your heart Focused Towards God as David did:
God wants you to Seek and Love Him like no other... not even sin should separate your heart from him.

Consequences for our misdeeds are only a natural application of law....and should not equate God doesn't love you.

NOW! Return to the Lord of Love and Grace...He is waiting!
