What was god doing?

Obviously this is similiar to What Was God Thinking. I often wonder what God was doing before he made us and planet earth. If space was void and had nothing in it, then where was he and what was he doing? Sometimes I think that maybe he had other things that he was doing that we are not privy to know or understand. It sounds weird I know, but sometimes i wonder about these things.
