Hebrew 2 class at MBI

Sitting in on a class at Moody Bible institute in Chicago, and broke this verse down in 4 renderings. Very interesting stuff, though the wording changes, the meaning is very clear: One God. I think it's an easy meaning to apply to our lives too because so many people live polytheistic lives without even realizing it.

I think of the signs waved at the Bronco's game last weekend: "WE BELIEVE!!!" I wonder, do people realize how incomplete that statement is??? Without an object of belief, anything can be inserted - winning, not giving up, football, a quarter back...

I would submit to those who scream to the top of their lungs, if they don't believe in the essential truths of the Gospel, which starts with this One God Moses is talking about, then their belief just demonstrates their polytheism, and denial of the One who sent His Son to die for them so that they can live.
