Assumptions about the Lord

Abraham's problem in this situation is that he speculated. In reality, he questioned God's ability to protect in this situation. Though God had shown Himself so faithful in past events, Abraham reverts to deception for self-preservation. Rather than see God work, he needs God to bail him out.
It makes me think of the opportunities I have missed because I doubted God's ability to come through. I often operate on the assumption God won't or can't. In my head I know God is a HUGE God capable of anything. My heart can be a different story. I need to translate that head belief to heart belief....and ultimately to action.
