we're such wierdos

Following the crowd, letting other people think for you and make decisions for you is just plain ignorant. In this instance 2 men had to convince all of Israel that they could go take this land. They believed what God said to be true. They weren't confident in their own abilities but in God's word. They were the only two- Joshua and Caleb- everyone else doubted and panicked. We are all given moments where we can follow the crowd or follow Christ- sometimes it means going against logic, against the opinions of others- lots of others- and against the norms. But we were never meant to be part of a crowd. This is not who we are. We were meant to be part of the called- those that live differently, live passionately and like Caleb, "follow Me completely." Doing so, we will get to enter into what God has promised. We can experience rest, joy and love, even in the midst of great trial. We were never called to blend in, to fit in, to be one of a million- we're called to stick out, stand out, be unlike everyone and bring glory to God. The thing that sets us apart? We have "a different spirit." I love me some Caleb.
