New Testament writers interpreting Old Testament Truth

Jesus said in Luke 24 that the Torah, prophets and writings spoke of him. This was a reference to the Hebrew bible which is in a tripartite format. Jesus said the OT told his story. Jesus expects Nicodemus to understand regeneration and salvation in John 3 because he knew the OT. Here in Gal 3:16 Paul now says loud and clear that the gospel was preached to Abraham. Salvation has always been by faith alone in Christ alone whether looking forward from the OT to the prophet that would be like Moses or in the NT looking back to the cross.
