Nothing and Everything

Too many days I observe (as David did) that when I am weak in faith or out of God's will, my attitude causes me to neglect seeing God's hand in my life and things generally looked bad. (vs 1-3)
But when I walk with God prayerfully and in peace, my attitude is positive and the Holy Spirit opens my eyes to see God's hand in all things. (vs 4-110
David asks that eternal question that I must ask myself every day: "What can I offer the LORD for all he has done for me?" (vs 12)
The answer is nothing and everything.

I acknowledge that I can do nothing - my every endeavor is powerless without the grace and help of God. On my own, I can easily become corrupted and so destroy myself, but I cannot correct myself and be saved without God. As a boat floats down a river, I can easily live according to the flesh, but of myself, I cannot stand against the flesh and live spiritually, just as a vessel cannot of itself sail against the rush of the current. It must either have rowers or sails in the wind. In the work of salvation, I can be victorious over my flesh; but so great is the corruption of my nature, that this cannot happen without the power of God—He Who is able to do all things.
So "what can I offer the LORD for all he has done for me?"
"I will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the LORD’s name for saving me."(vs13)
Overwhelming gratitude God's blessings and benefits to me should leave me speechless in my total unworthiness.
Total devotion. - to be determined to render to God all that I am capable of - a complete surrender of SELF, SOUL and SPIRIT to God. - Anything less is unreasonable for God gives me so much.
"I will keep my promises to the LORD in the presence of all his people".(vs 14)
Titus 2:7-8 "And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good works of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching. Teach the truth so that your teaching can’t be criticized. Then those who oppose us will be ashamed and have nothing bad to say about us."
I 'teach' by how I keep my promises to my LORD God. God desires me to be moral witness in my daily walk and that includes my words and actions. The words that I speak , the actions I do and the promises that I make - demonstrate how much value I have for my God, who I profess to serve. People are watching. I must value my promises to God as if they were gold. People either see Jesus Christ through my words and actions or they do not.

It seems impossible but them I remember the first part - I can do nothing without Christ - John 15:5 "“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing".

In other words: "For I can do everything through Christ," who gives me strength." Philippians 4:13
