Sitting in God's wrath
In my minds version of this verse I see a little Monty Python style animated angel flying down and pouring out the bowl on the beast's throne, giggling and flying away. Then the beast comes in, (John Cleese with ten horns on his head) looking at the morning paper, "Hmm... going to have to do something about that prostitute, she's really annoying." (see 17:16) Then he sits down on his wet throne, squish! "WHAT? Oh no, I just sat in God's wrath! And these were new pants! Ooh, that's starting to burn a little, Ahhhh! Curses!"
