Rest

This is a compelling passage in that it describes what each of us--in our hearts--wants to do. We would love to cease from our work as God did from his.

What is being said here, I think, is that when we enter the "rest" of God we stop figuring our work is what everything depends upon. We stop believing that God needs our effort to make things appear grandiose and beautiful, we stop fixing people and situations and allow God the freedom to be God in our lives. The beauty he wrought in creation, the making of something out of nothing, the design and order he infused into the chaos of our world, are all testaments to what he can do in our lives--if we will but rest!
