Babes
Typically when I think of babies, in terms of the spiritual process, I think of someone freshly removed from their sin. Discovering all the new sights and sounds of following Christ.
Today as I read these verses in The Message, It expounded in a way that makes much sense to me. Babies grab for whatever catches their attention. If someone else has it, they grab it.
My son is about 16 months old. If his older sister has something he doesn't, he makes a rather high pitched noise to get our attention. He's attempting to communicate that he wants that too. When he has what he wants, he seems content.
As as Christ-follower, I should be enamored with Him. Allowing myself to be fully submerged by His love and content in that. I don't need to keep reaching and grasping for what other's have. When things go wrong, my faith has been fed with the meat of God's Word enough that I don't need to panic or fret....knowing God is able.
Father,
Forgive my immaturity at times. May I always walk in confidence to your Word and knowing your ways are right. I pray Lord I would remain content in all things. AMEN.
