Our Obsessive Compulsive God

We sometimes think that God must be way to busy with important things to be interested in the mundane details of our lives. But this passage describes something very different.

At first glance we take this verse to mean that God knows the number of hairs on our head. In my case that means a lot less than I wish. If we look a little closer we notice that it says something a lot more interesting. It says that, "even the hairs of your head are all numbered."

Did you catch that? God doesn't just know how many hairs you have on your head, He's actually assigned each of them a number. When one falls out He doesn't just know you have one less hair. He knows whether it was hair 783 or 846.

Being a little OCD myself it comforts me to know that God is completely obsessed with…me. I'm the important thing that He is currently busy with. If He is obsessed enough to assign numbers to every hair on my head, how much more does He consume Himself with my worries, struggles, and every other concern I may have?

For some their OCD is a curse but when it comes to your relationship with God His OCD is a promise.
