Temptation

I was reading this verse in preparation for my talk with a youth group. As I started reading I see some similar parallels to this and Matt. 4. It may be a stretch, but here goes.

1 Corinthians 10 is talking about the people of Israel. This chapter tells us of the 4 things the people of Israel did that led to sin and destruction: 1)worship of idols, 2)sexual immorality, 3)testing God, 4) grumbling about circumstances. Of these 4 things, Jesus was tempted with 3 of them.

Christ was tempted to change a stone to bread. Many people would have been grumbling about not eating after 40 days and would have easily given in.

Christ was tempted to test God. Satan even used Scripture here to get Jesus to test God if he jumped.

Christ was tempted to worship an "idol." Satan was trying to get Jesus to worship him instead of the one true God.
