Lot's Sacrifice
So I feel as though people view this passage and view Lot as some sort of hero or martyr, but I view Lot as someone who is making an unnecessary sacrifice with his two daughters. I think this is the trouble with ministers today, they are sacrificing their families for ministry when God never asked them to. The angels or God never said to Lot, "Go and offer your two virgin daughters to make the angry crowd go away." We need to understand that we are under the protection of God and His angels and our family will be protected but we need to not throw our families to the world in the name of God; He never asked that of us. Now, there will be sacrifices we have to make, but nothing to the extent of destroying our family. This is a great passage to remember to protect our families, especially in ministry. I will never forget this passage and the lesson for ministry now and future ministry.
