Answered Prayer

The people are outside the temple praying. Zechariah is fulfilling his priestly duties inside the temple...praying. It also appears that he's been praying for quite awhile...and quite specifically. What are all these people praying for? A messiah. What is Zechariah praying for? A son. But he's also praying for the promised Messiah. The promise of God for their deliverance as God's people. Release from oppression.

The angel appears. The prayer that has been prayed, that is BEING prayed, is BEING answered.
