And God was With the Boy
This reminds me of something I was told some time ago - God is not nearly as upset with our enemies (those who oppose us) as we are. He still loves them and wants to bless them. We would do well to remember that.
The next time you see someone who you think God should be cursing, remember this verse (not to mention all the NT verses about loving your enemies!). Too often, we look hundreds of years down the line and see what happens with Ishmael's descendants and write him off, too. God doesn't do that.
