Demanding a King
The people demanded a king because they saw that Nahash, King of the Ammorites, was "moving against them." They wanted a king to protect them, to fight against Nahash.
Samuel implies that this is a lack of trust in God as their King (1 Sam 12:12).
Why do we want to trust human means instead of divine? Why do we trust in sight, rather than have faith in God?
