Friendship Protection!
Last year when I purchased my ipad, several people suggested that I get a screen protector. I was not sure what they were talking about so I investigated. I found that there are several companies that sale screen protectors for ipads and ipods. The screen protectors boast that they are military grade patented material engineered for your device. It protects from breakage, scratches, and reduces the appearance of fingerprint smudges. Considering the investment I made in purchasing the ipad, it was worth it to protect my investment. Six months later I am thankful that I made a small investment to protect that which I value.
If you value friendships, follow the wisdom writers counsel. "One who has no sense shakes hands in pledge and puts up security for a neighbor" Proverbs 17:18. Basically, don't cosign for your neighbor. Proverbs 22:26-27 say, "Do not be one who shakes hands in pledge or puts up security for debts; if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you". We all know that friends fall out over money. So choose friendship protection. Friendship protection is not something you purchase, but a decision you make. Here is the decision. Decide that you will not cosign for a friend or make a financial pledge on behalf of a friend unless you are prepared to pay the bill or loose the money. If either of those cases are not true, then don't do it. It will potentially damage the friendship. It may seem like a tough choice, but better to make the tough choice and maintain the friendship than make a bad choice and lose it.
