Our Desire to be Tempted

James 1:14 is saying that we will be tempted by thingswedesire.

For some strange reason I've thought that I would only be tempted to do things I didn't really want to do. Yet this verse shows that I will be tempted to do things I desire.

This changes the look of temptation.
This changes the look of sin.

We must notstand on ourselves as our foundation, but on the Word of God, on Jesus Christ Himself! Our own desires will lead us astray if we don't look to Christ always.

Identifythe wrong desires you know that have kept creeping up in your life. The wrong desires that have taken ahold of you in the past and that could in the future.

Fight against them.Read what the Bible says about those areas. Pray for help God's help & protection in overcoming them. Pray against the devil.

And always remember Matthew 6:21. As you spend more time with God and make Him your treasure, your desires will moreso and moreso match God's.
