Position yourself, stand and see...
Many times we feel that we are in a similar place. With so much against us it can, at times, seem over-whelming. However, 2 Chronicles teaches us some valuable lessons as we face insurmountable odds. In verse 12 Gods people, knowing a great multitude was coming against them, realized they do not have the "might" for this force and to win this battle, but look at what they say... " We do not know what to do, BUT our eyes are upon You." Isn't this where we need to start? Take your eyes off the problem and put them upon the solution.
Then, as we move to verse 15 the Spirit of the Lord tells them "Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude..." Let's interject here, that we should "BE NOT AFRAID" of the challenge that is facing us but seek and trust God. Moving on it states, ";for the battle is not yours, but Gods". You may want to meditate on that for awhile, the battle is NOT yours, it's Gods. Let me ask you, who is more equipped to win your battle?
Now look at verse 16 when the Spirit of the Lord says "Tomorrow go down to them..." Often times, I find that when I seek God about the battle at hand I find comfort and I find answers that will make me victorious but I still gotta GO. I rarely like that part, but, as an expression of my faith and an action to ignite Gods promise, don't be surprised if God says I will fight the battle but you show up, you GO!
Now, the part that I finds wraps it up for us and gives us the direction that God gave to Jehoshaphat comes in verse 17. (AMP) "You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you..."
Here is the direction we need, the answer we must grasp; Position ourselves; what did God say about this circumstance, what instruction has He given us? Determine this, as you seek Him and search His word, and also determine you will do what He says in order to take that position. Next, "Stand Still". I believe this is the most difficult. It can be where a minute seems like an hour and a day like a month but know that when you have taken your "position" you have then cast the responsibility for your victory in the hands of God and allowing Him to do what he said He will do is key. Finally, a most wonderful thing will happen, you will "See"! You will see the deliverance of the Lord. It will be a joyous and sweet victory as God manifest the very thing you need and delivers you and brings the victory home, right in your hands.
Now I want you to take the time to read through the rest of that chapter and see how God moved to bring their enemy to utter defeat and blessed His people with more than they could have dreamed of. Now, next battle you face realize this; your God is the Same God that delivered Jehoshaphat and His people and He will do it for you. You simply "Position yourself, stand still and see"!
