Be careful when considering this text to not take things farther than Paul does. It is popular to conclude that since death came through a man that resurrection HAD to come through a man. Paul says nothing about necessity. He does call our attention to the summation - the circle - that is completed by the victory of Jesus over death.

Everything that Adam offered is summed up in DEATH. That is the extent of everything we have accomplished. Everything that Jesus accomplished is summed up in RESURRECTION. There is the necessity. Everything we could not do (even in all our progress) Jesus completed (even in his crucifixion.)
