Our responsibility...

This scripture has always meant a lot to me. As a business man, a father, husband I realize that preparation is in my hands but the victory is in Gods. You see we can't allow the things that our life/job/relationships require to go untended and not work them but we also can't accept the responsibility for their success (or for the victory). God is saying in this scripture; you do your part, you do the leg work, plant the seed, invest with your own energy and sweat but know that the victory comes from me.

There is a companion scripture I love as well. First Corinthians 3:6 "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase." When you do what you know needs to be done, don't allow your the burden of the increase from that to lie on your shoulders. Know that we are planters and we water but the increase, the victory, it lies squarely in Gods hands and He always does His part.
